Modular Building Creation For Games | Volume 1 | Tutorial Course
Learn how a professional environment artist works when creating Modular Buildings for games. You’ll learn techniques like Correct Project Planning, Modular Asset Creation, Material Creation, Unreal Engine Level-art/Architecture, and more!

3DS MAX/BLENDER - SUBSTANCE PAINTER - UNREAL ENGINE

Update: We have added additional bonus files on how to also do the modeling of the modular pieces in Blender.

We will start with making a detailed planning of our building. After this, the modeling of our modular pieces will be done using 3DS Max - HOWEVER We made sure to use universal techniques so as long as you know the basics of your preferred software (Blender, Maya, Etc.) you should be able to follow along just fine.

For our texture creating we will be using Substance Painter to ensure everyone can follow along even through it involves tileable texture creation (instead of using Substance Designer)

And the rest of the setup will happen in Unreal Engine with a little bit of work in Photoshop.

We will also show how you can make both basic interiors next to the exterior building.

10+ HOURS!
This course contains over 10+ hours of content – You can follow along with every single step – There is only a minimal amount of time lapsing to speed up repetitive parts and in some of the bonus content. At the end of this course you should be extremely efficient in creating modular buildings.

PROJECT FILES
This tutorial comes with all the project files including the building and additional assets you see in the scene.

SKILL LEVEL
While this course is suited for all skill levels, it is essential to have a basic understanding of the software listed. I do provide a keyboard shortcut overlay while explaining the process, so hopefully everyone can join along. But without knowing how to use the programs we use it might be difficult to follow along.
